Company History
The one of the first significant radar test: a detailed GPR investigation inside the Saint Sophia's Cathedral, Kiev (the oldest church complex in Kiev, Ukraine).
This series of GPR took part in archaeological subsurface explorations (Kiev-Pechersk Lavra territory, caves in Ternopil and Lviv region, etc.), speleology (Ukrainian caves Ozerna, Mlynki, Ulashkivska etc.), relief and ice structure exploration in Antarctica etc.
The third series was equipped with a new powerful and fast microprocessor that allows to increase a measuring speed more than 5 times. All third generation GPRs were made in a new design body from glass-fibre plastic.
We constantly improve the GPR software to make it easier for user and more flexible and powerful to solve more difficult issues.
VIY Trademark Etymology
The origin of trademark VIY® derives both from the classic Ukrainian literature and Eastern-Slavic mythology:
"VIY is a tremendous creature of folk imagination. This name was given by Ukrainians to the Head of dwarves. He had very long eyelids going down to earth."
N. Gogol
The gaze of this creature had a magic all-permeating force that unveiled all hidden and unknown objects.
We believe VIY® GPRs have the same capability!
The VIY software allows all settings the Ground Penetrating Radars, to manage the process of measurement, load into a computer store, process and print the measured data. The same can import data from the VIY2 series GPR.
