Transient Technologies LLC started out a mass production of new VIY series portable ground penetrating radar (GPR).
VIY3-500 is a new compact GPR that is capable of probing up to 4 meters in depth with its weight of just 3 kilograms. This particular model suits best for the search of underground communications, research of tunnel walls and major constructions.
VIY series GPRs have 18-bit ADC receivers and embedded tilt sensors. Antenna connects with a laptop directly through USB cable and therefore there is no need for the control unit. Also, VIY GPRs have durable, visually appealing, dust-and-waterproof case, which is made of a fiberglass. Software to work with GPRs is available on the website www.viy.com. It can be downloaded for FREE.
On the 27th of February 2014 the research was made with a new portable VIY3-500 GPR, regarding the condition of the reinforced concrete slabs of the runway of the Boryspil international airport (Kyiv, Ukraine). The study was made due to the planned reconstruction.
Rebar grid Soil suffusion
The research has found damages in the structure of reinforced concrete slabs on the airfield. The thickness of slabs is 40 centimeters. Using portable VIY3-500 the underground suffusion has been detected.
Since 1998 Transient Technologies LLC is an innovative privately owned company that has been engaged in scientific researches in ground penetrating radars technologies. Since then the VIY series GPR found their customers in Brazil, China, India, Great Britain, Greece, France, Israel, Turkey, Russia, Ukraine and other parts of the world.
